City rail expansion gets the green light – first phase breaks ground Friday

After years of public consultation, planning and a final round of board approvals, the city rail expansion has been given the green light.

The first phase breaks ground on Friday morning with a ribbon-cutting at the old northeast terminal. Construction is expected to open two new stations within three years.
